CHICHESTER AND DISTRICT BONSAI SOCIETY
Chichester Clubs Annual Exhibition 2022
This year is the 10th Anniversary of this event. It started with a small table and a few small trees from our own club and now boasts in excess of 100 quality trees from many Clubs. Manor Nursery have again agreed to host our Annual Exhibition and our thanks go out to them. Available space is similar to that of previous years. These Clubs displaying, between them, cover a large part of East & West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey.
The Event will be held on Saturday 2nd July and Sunday 3rd July. Admission is again free and the venue is Manor Nursery, Pagham Road, Runcton, Chichester, West Sussex PO20 1LJ www.manornursery.com
We are sure that a variety of quality trees will be on display as each club will have their own stand 20 foot by 5 foot (please supply your own covering for the stands). The stands are open Garden Centre stands (as seen on the Manor website) therefore no backdrops are required.
The aim of the exhibition remains the same and is designed to increase awareness in the growing and caring for Bonsai by like minded people and to increase club memberships. (All are welcome from raw beginners through to Experienced Bonsai Carers).
The Exhibition will be open from 10.00am until 4.00pm on Saturday and from 10.00 am until 3.00pm on Sunday.
The Venue has ample free car parking and boasts good restaurant facilities (Winner of Chichester Observers Cafe of the year award for 2018) with the following timetable. Open Saturday 9.15 until 4.00pm - Breakfast served 10.00 until 11.30 - lunch (Hot meals) 12.00 until 2.00pm – Sunday 10.00 until 3.15pm – Closed 11.30 until 12.00 Dinner 12.00 until 2.00 (Hot food best to book). Except for Sunday lunch snacks etc. can be purchased.
We will again welcome Collette Harrison (Southampton Bonsai) and Tony Oswin (Hand crafted Pots) with sale stands at the venue. Manor Nursery stock and sell Bonsai Trees and some accessories.
There will be ongoing Demonstrations and workshops on both days with various exhibitors working on their own trees.
The General Public are invited to bring along any trees that they would like help or advice on. If Individuals wish to show trees at the Exhibition then please contact the show secretary Frank Weaver.
We are grateful to Manor Nursery who once again have agreed to hold this event. They are a family-owned independent garden centre run by growers who know that quality plants are the basis of every good garden. With friendly, helpful staff and a huge range of products for indoors and out, including a gift and toy department, and with the 180-seat Palm House Restaurant, there is something to interest all the family. Easily reached from Chichester or Bognor Regis, there is a large car park and access for disabled people.
In addition to our annual display Manor Nursery will be holding workshops on Saturdays 19th February, 4th June and 3rd September all from 10.00am until 1.00pm.
